March at a Glance

Seems as though March has just flown by! Celia is now four and a half months old and growing like a week. We were at the doctor in early March and at that time she weighed 14 lb.s, 14 oz. There's no question she's in the 15 lb. range now.

Her motor skills continue to get better and better. She's now grabbing at things with precision, including mommy's hair and all her toys. Speaking of toys, she notices them now whereas before they were just objects that would get in her way.

We've been told at daycare the past few weeks that CeCe really likes Elmo. We weren't really buying it. Afterall, she's not even six months. However, last week our daycare provider, Cate, gave us an Elmo DVD to take home. As soon as we put it in, CeCe started laughing and staring intently at the TV. We're still convinced she's only interested in the red color and moving objects but it's fun to watch nonetheless. The Easter Bunny left a gift at Oma and Papa's for her: a baby Elmo doll. :-)

We didn't really celebrate Easter this year. I got a nasty case of the flu over Easter weekend so we mainly hunkered down. We took Celia to Mass all dressed up in her Easter dress (a gift from our friend, Mary Pat Fischer) but she was crabby and fussy. She's usually at her happiest in church as she takes in all the people and the music, but not on this day. So we went home, changed her into her pajamas and vegged out the rest of the day. Nana and Pops stopped over with Lisa and Emily so we got some nice family time in.

Celia's bald spot has continued to get worse. From the front she looks great but turn her around and she looks like a middle-aged man! She has a band of hair missing in the middle of her head from turning her head from side to side when she's on her back. I'll post photos of that next time.

On to the photos:

Family photo - actually taken in February, I believe.

She LOVES baths!

Celebrating St. Patty's Day

We bought Celia a St. Patrick's Day dress.

Daddy and CeCe.

A visit to Oma and Papa's doubled as a St. Patrick's Day party and celebration of both daddy's and aunt Shelly's birthdays. Here they are giving a speech before blowing out their birthday candles.

We went to brunch with the Carpenters a few Sundays ago. Here's CeCe and Ryan.

Dana and Brendan.

I gave Brendan a bite of a cherry from my "cherry kijafa crepes." His reaction was absolutely priceless! I guess it was a bit tart!

Yep, it really was that tart.

Matt and Jason were in Las Vegas for a few days this past week for a guys March Madness trip. Michelle and I had our own party to watch the Badger game with the kids. CeCe finally got to wear her Badgers cheerleading outfit. Here she is with Michelle and Billy.

They took turns smiling. Unfortunately the camera didn't capture one of them doing it at the same time!

With Michelle and Billy again.

Cute little Billy Porter.

Playing with Papa

Celia came to work with mommy a few weeks ago. All that work conked her out!

She's still a bit too short but CeCe loves being in her jumperoo. Check out her bunny slippers!

The Activity Center is also one of her favorite places.

Celebrating daddy's birthday.

Boo!

Matt held "crazy hair day" for the fifth graders last week. He made me shave his head into a mohawk. And the beard? I don't know what he was going for there, but I'm happy to say that he came home from Vegas clean shaven and handsome again.
